How Genesis Bank handles customer information
This notice explains the information used to provide accounts and digital banking, why it is processed and the choices available to customers.
Information collected
The bank may collect identity details, contact information, address, next-of-kin information, account records, transaction instructions, uploaded documents, device and security information, support communications and information required for a requested banking service.
Why information is used
Information is used to open and administer accounts, authenticate customers, process supported transactions, review applications, prevent misuse, meet applicable obligations, communicate service information and respond to support requests.
Sharing and service providers
Information may be shared with payment networks, receiving institutions, identity or security providers, professional advisers, infrastructure providers and authorities where required or permitted. Providers should receive only information reasonably needed for their role.
Translation and live chat
When automatic translation is enabled, visible page text may be processed by the configured translation service. Email text may also be translated into the customer’s saved language. JivoChat processes live-chat information under the institution’s configured JivoChat account. Do not submit passwords, complete PINs, one-time codes or full card security codes through translation or chat tools.
Cookies and local storage
The website may store session, security, interface, language and live-chat data in cookies or browser storage. These records help maintain sign-in state, remember preferences and operate supported services.
Retention and protection
Records are retained for the period required to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain transaction evidence and meet applicable obligations. Access controls, authentication and operational safeguards are used to reduce unauthorised access, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Customer requests
Subject to applicable law, customers may ask to review or correct information and may raise questions about use of their data. Some records cannot be deleted while an account, transaction, legal hold or retention requirement remains active.
